The manufacturers list all the ingredients that they used to make the product, from the ingredient that is most present in the food to the one that is least present.
This is called labeling, and it helps the consumer understand what they are eating. But, there are a lot of manufacturers that will use some tricks to hide the amount of ingredients or to cover some ingredient that is unhealthy.
The processed foods that are sold in the supermarkets around the world, are unhealthy, but since the label is not showing that, a lot of people are not even aware of this fact. A perfect example for this kind of product is Heinz ketchup. Here is why you should avoid this product:
Heinz ketchup contains high fructose corn syrup. This is not shown on the list because they have decided to list the same ingredient under two different names. This syrup is dangerous for the body, because it is essentially GMO food, and it will increase the levels of sugar in your blood and it can eventually cause liver issues. It may also cause heart disease, poor immunity, diabetes and weight gain.
This ketchup also contains distilled GMO vinegar and additional four grams of sugar per tbsp. The bottom line is that this popular product contains three GMO ingredients and it contains no fiber, protein or nutrients. Other ingredients that it contains are salt, onion powder and additives. It is in your best interest to exclude this product from your daily diet and use homemade tomato sauce instead.
